So to continue the TRAVELLER momentum here are some news items from around the Universe that may or may not have some bearing on the game:

1 The price of Mythelium rose to 260000 credits per tonne. Mythelium is now on the restricted list and transporting it without a license has bee classed as an offence under Imperial Law.

2 Silver found to be rarer than gold in several sectors in the Spinward Marches.

3 The Emperor is making a historic tour of the Core Worlds. It has been 50 years since he last left the Palace Planet and that was to visit his nephew on Devron V just before the heir apparent’s assassination.

4 The Duke of Campion, Duncan Black, was found dead in his offices there is no signs of foul play. Black is the de facto head of Imperial Intelligence but there are rumours that he also headed the Infamous Shadow Initiative the group said to be instrumental in the downfall of at least 14 governments in the Zhodani Consulate.

5 Dr Templar, Professor of Psionics at Capitol University, has died of Trevenian’s Palsey a disease he had been trying to cure for the better part of 25 years. Templar is famous for designing the Psionic Enhancer and the more commercial Psychic Shield.

6 The pirate, Kyre Drazma, has started raiding the Marches again. Drazma was believed dead when her corsair, Psionic Saint, was destroyed in a pitched battle with the Imperial Navy. The rogue psionicist was notorious for the destruction of the 12th and 1st battle groups in the battle of Bazel Drift.

7 An open warrant has been issued for the arrest of three fleet commanders who have been using their positions to steal military hardware and carry out illicit smuggling operations. They have been sentenced to death, the warrant also covers anyone who has helped or chartered from the commanders, these people have a death sentence
in place.
