The story so far…

Our travellers have found Hunters World and landed. They have begun to explore the trading district and have observed some remarkable things.

HUNTERS WORLD

SIZE: TWICE EARTH STANDARD

ATMOSPHERE: STANDARD

HYDRO: STANDARD LARGE OCEANS THREE LARGE LAND MASSES THE LARGEST OF WHICH HOLDS THE ONLY CITIES.

SUN: UNIQUE – HUNTERS SUN GIVES OFF VERY LITTLE UV LIGHT THIS CAUSED THE EVOLUTION OF THE VAMPIRES. (THEY ARE DESCRIBED ON THE NULN CHRONICLE WEB SITE)

LIGHT: DARKER THAN EARTH LIKE A PERMENANTLY CLOUDY DAY NIGHT ALLOWS THE THREE MOONS TO BECOME VISIBLE AND DUE TO CERTAIN ELEMENTS IN THE AIR GLOW IN THREE SEPARATE COLOURS (HELIOS THE RED MOON, LUMOS THE BLUE MOON AND ISLE BELLE THE GREEN MOON)

GRAVITY: LOWER THAN EARTH STANDARD WHICH HAS ALLOWED THE EVOLUTION OF BIRDS THAT ARE LARGE ENOUGH TO CARRY A MAN KNOWN TO THE POPULATION AS ROCS THESE BIRDS ARE THE SIZE OF A SMALL AIRCRAFT AND INHABIT THE MOUNTAINS ON THE SMALLEST OF THE PLANETS THREE LAND MASSES.

POLITICS: THE VAMPIRES RUN THE PLANET AND HAVE INTERDICTED THEMSELVES FROM THE REST OF THE UNIVERSE. THE GOVERNANCE OF THE PLANET FALLS TO THE 8 MAJOR (OR BREEDING) HOUSES THESE HOUSES TRADE AND DEAL TO ADVANCE THEIR OWN PURPOSES THEY HAVE ALLIANCES WITH THE TEN MINOR (OR TRADING) HOUSES THE POPULACE IN GENERAL FUNCTIONS MUCH LIKE ANY PLANETS POPULACE SAVE THAT TRADES FALL UNDER LESSER (OR SERVANT) HOUSES LIKE HOUSE TAXUS WHICH CONTROLS THE TAXIS OF THE CAPITAL CITY.

PROBLEMS: THEY ARE NOT TYRANTS IN THE TRUE SENSE OF THE TERM BUT THEY DO RUN THE PLANET AS A CORPORATE VENTURE. THIS HAS LED TO SOME OF THE POPULACE TO REBEL THIS REBELLION IS FOR THE MOST PART IGNORED EXCEPT BY ONE OR TWO OF THE HOUSES. THE INTERDICTION FROM SPACE TRAVEL IS THE MAIN CAUSE OF THE DISSATISFACTION AND THERE ARE SOME IN THE MAJOR AND MINOR HOUSES THAT WOULD LIKE THE FREEDOM TO TRAVEL THE SPACE LANES.

DANGERS: EXPLORATION OF THE WILDERNESS OF HUNTERS WORLD MAY BE EXCITING AS THE NATIVE SPEIES HAVE DEVELOPED HUNTING AND KILLING TECHNIQUES ON A PAR WITH SOME OF THE LARGER CARNIVORES ON OLD EARTH (LIONS AND TIGERS AND BEARS OH MY!).

THE BIGEST DANGER POSED BY THE HUNTERS WORLD POPULACE IS THEIR ARROGANCE – THEIR UNFAILING BELIEF THAT THEY ARE SUPERIOR TO EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE ELSE – THEY ARE A LONG LIVED RACE AND PART OF THE CULTURE HAS ARISEN TO KEEP THE POPULATION WITHIN ACCEPTABLE LIMITS. OVER CENTURIES THE MALE VAMPIRES HAVE KEPT THE FEMALE VAMPIRES UNDER THEIR WHIPS. THEY HAVE RELENTED ENOUGH TO ALLOW THE FORMATION OF AN ALL FEMALE MAJOR HOUSE BUT THEY STILL KEEP HAREMS AND THE FEMALE VAMPIRES LET THEM. THE DIVISION OF THE SEXES HAS BEEN THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THE REBEELION AND ALSO STRANGELY THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SPACE GOING FLEET AND A SPACE NAVY.

BUCCANEERS: BUCCANEERS ARE THE HUNTERS WORLD SPACE NAVY THEY ARE TASKED WITH THE SECURITY OF THE HUNTERS WORLD SYSTEM AND TO TRAVERSE THE SPACE LANES BRINGING NEW TECHNOLOGY TO HUNTERS WORLD. THEY ALSO HAVE A MORE SINISTER PURPOSE IN THAT THEY HARVEST FOOD FOR THE VAMPIRES. VAMPIRES FEED ON BLOOD AND THEY THRIVE ON HUNTED BLOOD THE BUCCANEERS ARE SENT OUT IN TO THE VOID TO GATHER PREY HUMANS AND ALIENS THAT WIL L BE SET FREE ON HUNTERS WORLDS SECOND LARGEST LAND MASS WERE THE VAMPYRES WILL GO TO HUNT. THIS LEADS TO YET ANOTHER DANGER ON HUNTERS WORLD – THE HUNTERS

THE HUNTERS: THE HUNTERS ARE THE ANCESTORS OF SOME OF THE PREY WHO WERE QUICK AND TALENTED ENOUGH TO OUTRUN AND OUTLIVE THEIR OWN HUNTERS. THEY ARE INTERBRED WITH ALIEN AND HUMAN AND WHILE THEY RESEMBLE HUMANS TO A DEGREE IN THE MAJORITY THEY HAVE SENSES THAT SURPASS THE NORM. IN THE PAST 200 YEARS THESE HUNTERS HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED AS PART OF THE VAMPIRE RACE AND HAVE STARTED TO LIVE WITH VAMPIRES AS FAMILY UNITS KNOWN AS THE TAINTED. MOSTLY MALE HUNTERS WITH FEMALE VAMPIRES (OR MAIDENS) THE TAINTED FILL IN ROLES IN THE SERVANT HOUSES AND PART OF THE BUCCANEER FLEET. THOSE HUNTERS WHO CANNOT INTGRATE ARE THE HEART OF THE REBELLION AND HAVE FOUND SYMPATHETIC EARS WITHING SOME OF THE HOUSES AS THEY WISH TO LEAVE HUNTERS WORLD AND SET UP THEIR OWN HOME WORLD.

THE YELLOW MOON ISLE BELLE HAS BEEN HOLLOWED OUT TO CREATE A GIANT SHIP BUILDING COMPLEX. AS THEY FLEW PAST THEY SAW A SHIP THAT LOOOKED BIG ENOUGH TO CARRY THEIRS AND TWO OR THREE OTHERS IN ITS HOLD BEING ASSEMBLED.

IN A CAFÉ THEY NOTICED A CRESCENT SHAPED TATTOO ON THE ARM OF ONE OF THE CREW OF A BUCCANEER THEY LATER DISCOVERED THAT THIS WAS THE CLAN TATTOO OF HOUSE PELNAK.

eye002HOUSE LIETHSPIEL IS KNOWN TO THE OTHER HOUSES AS THE CLAN OF TORTURERS THEY ARE THE ENFORCERS FOR THE PLANET THEIR SYMBOLS INCLUDE AN EYE ANY CLAN HOUSES THAT ARE TIED TO THIS HOUSE INCORPORATE THE STYLISED EYE IN THEIR SYMBOL

THIS MAKES IT EASY AND DIFFICULT DEALING WITH VAMPIRES, ON THE ONE HAND IF YOU SENSE THE NATURE OF THE VAMPIRE YOU CAN WORK OUT WAYS TO NEGOTIATE SO THAT THEY ARE WORKING TO HELP YOU, HOWEVER THE SCARIER THEY ARE THE HARDER IT IS FOR HUMANS TO IGNORE THE FACT THAT THIS IS JJUST A NATURAL ABILITY OF THE VAMPIRE NOT A WAY TO TRICK OR BEGUILE HUMANS. IT HELPS TO IDENTIFY VAMPIRES TO HUMANS.
